Marietta Schools are back to normal tomorrow after icy storm
Marietta City Schools students will be heading back to school Tuesday after a weekend winter storm that's kept them out of the classroom.
The school system made the announcement on its Facebook page just before 5 p.m. Monday.
“I want to thank the numerous people in our MCS maintenance and transportation departments – they have been working tirelessly today to make sure our buildings, sidewalks, and buses are ready to welcome our students back tomorrow,” wrote new superintendent Grant Rivera.
A winter storm was expected to bring 4 inches of snow to the area but only brought hazardous, icy roads to Marietta.
The ice was so bad the city closed the ice skating rink in Marietta Square on Saturday, if you can wrap your head around that.
Neighboring Cherokee County canceled classes Tuesday.
