Elizabeth Kiss, who's ending her 12-year tenure as Agnes Scott College's president in June, will become the next leader of one of the world's most prestigious scholarship programs.

Kiss will be the warden and chief executive officer of the Rhodes Trust, according to an announcement made Wednesday. Kiss is the first woman hired to lead the trust, based in Oxford in the United Kingdom. Her term begins in August.

Kiss will have overall responsibility for selecting and developing students. The Rhodes Trust provides the existing Rhodes Scholarships in partnership with many benefactors. Kiss was a Rhodes Scholar.

“It will be a joy to return to Oxford and I look forward to getting to know the current Rhodes Scholars, the University community, and Senior Scholars all across the globe,” she said in a statement.

Agnes Scott announced last week Leocadia "Lee" Zak, the former director of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, will be the next president of the Decatur college.
