A deputy who quoted Denzel Washington’s character in “Training Day” while waving around a firearm has been fired.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Lake County Sheriff's deputy Dean Zipes was fired on April 21 after allegedly pulling out his gun twice in an office setting, as well as pointing the weapon at a pizza delivery man while joking that the man was Markeith Loyd, who is accused of killing Orlando police Master Sgt. Debra Clayton.

Witnesses say that on Feb. 16, Zipes quoted and emulated a “Training Day” scene in which Washington rubs his weapons together in front of a trainee.

The incident, which occurred in the presence of several deputies, happened outside a sheriff’s substation. Witnesses saw Zipes rub his Taser and gun together near a Kangaroo Express convenience store, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Zipes is also accused of pulling out his gun in an office setting, and making racial slurs. Zipes said he was trying to be funny and that he’s “just a guy going through some stuff,” according to the Sentinel.
