A man found dead inside a wrecked car in south DeKalb County Thursday night had been shot, police said late this morning.

DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said officers responding to 9:45 p.m. reports of shots fired and a car accident in the 1500 block of Key Road found an overturned Nissan Sentra.

She said a man found deceased inside the car was later determined to have died from a gunshot wound.

A 28-year-old man located outside the car had also been shot, and is hospitalized in critical condition.

A third man connected to the scene was found outside a home on nearby Foxhall Lane, also suffering from a gunshot wound, Parish said. That man, an 18-year-old, is also in critical condition.

Parish said a fourth man located near the scene had not been shot, and detectives are “working to determine if he is connected to the shooting.”

She said no suspects have been arrested or identified.

“Detectives are working to determine where the shooting took place,” Parish said.

The names of those involved, and the age of the dead man, have not been released.
