A Douglas County woman is in jail after allegedly assaulting her father and his wife, police said.

Jacqueline Salas is accused of becoming intoxicated and acting aggressively toward family members at their Greycliff Pointe residence in Douglasville, according to an incident report from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

The 50-year-old was staying with her 79-year-old father during the March 12 attack in which Salas allegedly knocked an item out of her father’s hand, Douglas sheriff’s spokesman Vernell Scott said.

A deputy witnessed Salas cursing and raising her hand as if to strike her father, Scott said.

Salas is charged with simple assault and punishment or exploiting a disabled or elder person.

Her bond was set at $2,000.
