Police said a man went around an Athens apartment complex, smashing red vehicles near the University of Georgia campus after he got into a car crash Wednesday, according to Channel 2 Action News.

UGA student Brandyn Clark, 20, is suspected of damaging at least 11 cars inside the Standard Apartments parking garage, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department told Channel 2.

Hilda Sorrow, a spokeswoman department, said the damage happened between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Most of the cars targeted were red, including Allie Dennis’ Jeep Grand Cherokee.

“A headlight had been kicked in,” Dennis said. “I don’t really know him or know his motives exactly so I really had no reason to judge what he did, but it’s obviously an inconvenience.”

Police said Clark told officers his car was involved in a hit-and-run.

Police Sgt. Rick Hammond said Clark tried to convince police at about 2 a.m. that someone had sideswiped his car on a parking deck.

Officers, who reconnected with Clark around 7 a.m., said he kicked cars, hit them and used a tool to punch holes.

Hammond said Clark had a laceration on his finger and left blood on about 10 cars.

Clark was arrested but released on bond, Channel 2 reported.
