A man wanted on aggravated assault and battery charges was arrested early Friday morning as part of a four-agency operation in which 19 others were arrested.

Jonas Williams, 22, had been on the run since his alleged involvement in a May 2 beating of a man in Riverdale, Clayton County officials said.

The victim had gotten into a fight with another person, when officials say Williams ran over and stomped and kicked the victim in the head.

The man was taken to the hospital where he was in a coma for two days. He later died.

Williams could face murder charges pending the outcome of the autopsy results. He remained in the Clayton County jail without bond Friday night.

No details were released on the others arrested in the operation, known as “Guardian of Gotham,” which involved Riverdale and Jonesboro police departments, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Department of Community Supervision.
