Student accused of assaulting teacher

A 17-year-old student at Mt. Zion High School in Jonesboro was arrested after allegedly assaulting a teacher Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

“We obviously cannot go into details,” Clayton County Public Schools spokeswoman Jada Dawkins told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Wednesday afternoon.

However, she said the “matter is under investigation.”

According to reports, the teacher was treated at the hospital and released Wednesday morning.
