An eight-time felon was sentenced Friday to 17 years in federal prison for multiple gun and drug trafficking charges, officials said.

Tony Anthony Goodman was the last of a group of unlicensed gun dealers in Griffin to be sentenced for his crimes, United States Attorney John A. Horn said in a news release.

A judge found Goodman guilty May 9 of dealing sawed-off shotguns, cocaine and a drug commonly known as “Molly,” Horn said.

In the span of two months early in 2015, Goodman sold 12 firearms to an undercover Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives officer. This was after Goodman was paroled, in 2012, for forgery, drug dealing, burglary, aggravated assault and firearms convictions. His eight previous felony convictions were for crimes committed between 1984 and 1997.

The 51-year-old was indicted March 4, 2015, along with co-defendants David Combs, Demetrice Coggins and Shedrick Howard. Goodman’s co-defendants all pleaded guilty to crimes related to possession of firearms and received sentences varying from one year and a day to more than eight years in federal prison.

ATF Acting Special Agent in Charge James Deir said Goodman’s crimes show his utter disregard for the community.
