Sandy Springs police are seeking to identify a car after an officer was struck during a traffic stop Friday night, authorities said.

The incident happened just before 9 p.m. on Roswell Road near Morgan Falls Road, police spokesman Sgt. Forrest Bohannon said.

The car, which may be a bright blue compact Ford, was driven from the scene after the incident, police said.

The officer, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital and is being treated for minor injuries, Bohannon said.
