A Roswell man was arrested on a child molestation charge after he inappropriately grabbed a 12-year-old girl, Cobb County authorities said.

Christopher Anders Vangelder, who also faces a peeping Tom charge in Fulton County, was jailed Nov. 22 in connection with the Cobb incident, records show.

According to a warrant, the man grabbed the girl at a QuikTrip in the 4600 block of Woodstock Road between 10 and 11 p.m. Oct. 27, then followed her, her juvenile friend and her friend’s mother to a house.

Vangelder, 34, stopped his vehicle in front of the house, but drove away when the friend’s mother confronted him, authorities said.

He was released from the Cobb jail Thursday on a $5,720 bond, records show.

The same day, Vangelder was booked into the Fulton jail on the peeping Tom charge, jail records show.

That incident happened in September, according to records. Vangelder looked into a women’s restroom at a Target in the 1100 block of Woodstock Road in Roswell, according to a Fulton County warrant.

No bond has been set. His next court appearance is Dec. 8.
