A man clocked at 106 MPH took off when a trooper tried to stop him on Akers Mill Road in Atlanta Tuesday afternoon, police say.

Keron Hamilton, 25, of Stone Mountain, led police on a chase along I-75 South in northwest Atlanta, Georgia State Patrol told Channel 2 Action News.

Trooper Haran Baylor told the news station Hamilton weaved recklessly in and out of traffic before he got on Hamilton Drive going the wrong direction.

He then hit another car as he got on I-75 at Mount Paran Road, Channel 2 reported.

That car then hit the median, but kept going, Baylor said.

“We're trying to locate it,” Baylor told Channel 2.

But the car Hamilton was driving started smoking and Hamilton ran off, Baylor said.

A tractor trailer blocked Hamilton on the shoulder, where he was arrested.

His passenger, Niyara Fuller, was also arrested, the GSP said.

Hamilton had a suspended license, which may have been why he decided to run from police.

He faces charges of reckless driving, speeding, fleeing and alluding and driving on a suspended license.

Hamilton was taken to the Cobb County jail.
