The man who died Thursday after an early morning shooting at a Marietta apartment complex was identified Friday afternoon as 26-year-old Damion Wright.

Wright, of Marietta, was discovered just after midnight Thursday in the parking lot of the Pointes of Marietta apartment complex on Cunningham Road, Marietta police Det. Christopher Lindsey said in an emailed statement.

He was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he died.

"The Marietta Police department is actively working to bring the person(s) responsible for this crime to justice, and is requesting the help of the public in its endeavor," Lindsey said in the statement.
