Police: Man confesses in New York to 5-year-old fatal shooting in Roswell

Almost five years had passed since the shooting.

Maybe that’s what weighed on a 37-year-old man’s mind when he decided to walk into a police station in New York on Friday morning and confess his role in a fatal shooting in Roswell.

Ladell Deon Crumpton, 31, was found shot to death at the Concepts 21 apartment complex on Old Holcomb Bridge Road in January 2012.

Investigators in Scarsdale, N.Y., aren’t yet releasing the man’s name, but Roswell police spokeswoman Lisa Holland said a man who confessed to a drug and gang-related shooting is in the process of being extradited back to Georgia.

Westchester County Jail records show Kwayne Dozier, also known as Kwame Dozier, was arrested by Scarsdale police Friday on a fugitive from justice charge and remains in custody there, Lohud.com reported.
