Atlanta police have located the BMW belonging to a Coweta County teen killed in a carjacking, but no arrests have been made in the Friday night shooting.

Sean Michael Turner, 17, and a friend were at a gas station on Boulevard when they “ran into the brother of one of their old friends,” police previously said. The teens allegedly asked the man — who they knew only as “Salsa” — if he could help them get some marijuana.

Salsa agreed, and he followed in another car while two of his associates rode in the back of Turner’s BMW, according to police.

Turner, his friend and the strangers drove to the intersection of Charles Allen Drive and 9th Street, not far from Piedmont Park and Grady High School. There, the men pulled out handguns and put them to the heads of the teens, who were ordered out of the car, police said.

The two men drove off in Turner’s BMW, and Turner ran toward the car when he saw it stopped in traffic on 8th Street, police said. When Turner reached the car and opened a door, he was shot. He died the following day at Atlanta Medical Center.

Police said Thursday the BMW had been located, but no information was released on where it was found.

Turner, who would have turned 18 in January, had recently completed high school and was passionate about his music, according to his online obituary. His funeral was held Tuesday.
