Atlanta police are investigating a shooting in southwest Atlanta late Monday night in which a man may have been unintentionally shot.

Anthony Chalmers was interviewed by investigators at Grady Memorial Hospital where he was being treated for several gunshot wounds to his lower right leg, Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said. But he did not provide information about the incident, she added.

Police had earlier responded to a shots fired call in the Sylvan Road area. Jones said a witness, who was not identified, said he and Chalmers had been caught in the crossfire of a battle on Sylvan and were probably unintended targets.
