A Macon pizza delivery driver was shot and critically wounded during what was actually a robbery attempt, the Macon Telegraph reported Thursday.

Brooklyn Rouse, 21, was filling in for a Papa John’s Pizza co-worker Monday when she was shot in the face, head and neck, Bibb County sheriff’s deputies said. She had been on the job for only two weeks.

Alisha Genva Wilson, 26, allegedly called in the phony order in order to lure Rouse to her neighborhood, the newspaper reported. Wilson has been jailed without bond on attempted murder and other charges.

The alleged gunman, 19-year-old Jacob Elijah Miller, is at large, the newspaper reported.

GoFundMe page for Rouse had raised more than $10,000 as of Thursday afternoon.

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors.
