DeKalb police identified Derrisha Terry as a person of interest in a deadly shooting at Maggie’s Weaving Studio on Dec. 28.

DeKalb County police are on the hunt for a person of interest in a deadly shooting at a hair salon.

Derrisha Terry was identified as the person of interest in the Dec. 28 incident at Maggie’s Weaving Studio outside Stone Mountain, police said.

The incident started when Terry and an unidentified man got into an altercation with the salon owner and opened fire on the business, DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution early Friday.

Investigators believe Christopher Mitchell, 25, was shot at the studio in the 5800 block of Memorial Drive. He was found two miles away outside a home in the 1200 block of West Ridge Avenue.

“I’ve been shot, I’ve been shot,” Mitchell said when the homeowner opened the door.

The homeowner, who told her story to Channel 2 Action News without using her name because of the gravity of the situation, said she did not know the victim. However, she went inside to dial 911.

Mitchell was pronounced dead later.

“We are investigating whether he is the same man involved in the dispute at the hair salon,” Campbell told The AJC.

It is unclear if Terry fired the deadly shot.

Anyone with information on Terry's location is asked to call authorities at 770-724-7850.
