The 48-year-old newlywed had just come home from walking his dog Monday morning when the men forced themselves inside his Ridge Forest Drive residence, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Moore’s husband was tied up and forced inside a closet, where he stayed as the suspects shot and killed Moore, the news station reported.

For the next 90 minutues, the gunmen ransacked the DeKalb County home and stole TVs before leaving in Moore’s car. The victim’s husband eventually escaped from the closet and called police, who found the car blocks away.

“They took a lot of time in the home,” Stone Mountain police Sgt. Manuel Norrington told Channel 2. “They stayed there for some time, which is not normal.”

Neighbors told the news station they’re not sure who would kill Moore.

“He would have given the shirt off his back,” Jules Harvey said.

The crime was captured on a surveillance camera that was installed after an earlier attempted break-in at the home, Channel 2 reported.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Stone Mountain police.
