A man in the Tampa-area was arrested on Tuesday after deputies said they found a teenage male chained up inside of his garage.
Carlos Alvarez, 42, allegedly hit the 17-year-old teen with a belt and punched him multiple times in the face and body, WFTS reports.
Pasco County Sheriff’s Office deputies said they found the teen at Alvarez’s Land O’ Lakes home chained by the ankle to an 150-pound punching bag. They later found Alvarez at a nearby park and arrested him.
Alvarez remains at the county jail on charges of child abuse. He is being held on a $100,00 bond, according to jail records.
Officials told WFTS that the teen did not need medical treatment.
