A motorcyclist was killed in a Monday afternoon crash along Dallas Highway in Marietta, Cobb County officials said.

Jeffrey Hinkle, 52, of Powder Springs was traveling northbound on Casteel Raod in his blue 2012 Suzuki GSX-R about 12:30 p.m. when he crossed over Dallas Highway and was struck and killed, Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

Hinkle had the green light when he was struck by Alfred Onken, 72, of Marietta, in his red 2002 Subaru Forester, Pierce said. Onken was traveling westbound on Dallas Highway at the time of the crash.

Hinkle was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he was pronounced dead. No charges have been filed.
