A pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint of four pizzas, wings, personal items and $10 on Nov. 29 in Cherokee County.

Four pizzas and an order of wings.

That’s what someone ordered from Domino’s Pizza in Acworth last week, trying to lure a delivery driver with $100.

The order was made Nov. 29 for an apartment in the Waldan Pond complex in Cherokee County, according to a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office incident report. Delivery driver David Eppes told deputies he had only $10 on him when he walked toward the first floor apartment to deliver the order.

Someone pushed Eppes from behind and a man in a mask jumped on top of him and covered his mouth.

“We don’t want to hurt you; just give us the money,” the man told Eppes.

Two more men in masks and dark clothing appeared. One had what Eppes described to deputies as a semi-automatic handgun.

He handed over $10 and the robber got mad.

“How were you going to change a $100?” the gunman asked before kicking him in the nose.

The gunman told his accomplices to take everything Eppes had and they promptly robbed him of his wallet, shoes, silver karate ring, belt and car keys.

The men also took the four pizzas and wings.

Cherokee police dogs tracked the suspects, but quickly lost the trail.

The woman who lived at the apartment number given to Domino’s when the order was placed said she had seen four men hanging out in the parking lot. One man, she said, had a high-pitched voice, and two more were looming in the dark near the steps, but she paid them no mind and went on to her apartment, the report said.

Detectives are following up on leads, sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said.

If anyone has information, they are urged to call investigators at 770-928-039.
