It took more than two years, but police caught up to a man they believe committed murder in 2014.

Dwight Blalock was arrested Wednesday in Alabama and charged with murder in connection with the death of Carlos Wright, Marietta police spokeswoman Kelah Wallace said in a news release.

Wright was found shot to death in a car on Bellemeade Way in Marietta in November 2014.

While investigating a homicide and two home invasions on Nov. 28, Marietta police officers arrested three people at a home on James Street, near Tower Road, Wallace said.

Information discovered during that investigation led detectives to Blalock.

The crimes may have potential gang ties, Wallace said.

Anyone who wishes to offer additional information regarding the murder of Carlos Wright is asked to contact lead Detective Shane Merritt at (770)794-5334.
