Amarius Norris, 19, was denied bond Wednesday after he allegedly brought a gun to South Cobb High School, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Channel 2's Nicole Carr reports its the second time police investigated gang ties at South Cobb High School.

Norris, along with two others, had just entered the school with a backpack, when officials immediately recognized he wasn’t a student, according to a letter written by principal Clint Terza that appeared on the school’s website.

He was questioned by officials and arrested by police. According to a report obtained by Channel 2, Norris faces criminal gang activity charges as well as weapons and theft charges.

A stolen gun was also found in his backpack, but police have not said if it was loaded. Two juveniles were also arrested during the incident.

The principal did not say why the man was on campus or what his connection was to the two juveniles. Their charges were not released.

“I am thankful to work with so many individuals that focus on keeping our campus free from outside distractions,” Terza’s letter said. “Their alert and quick thinking actions resulted in an immediate arrest.”
