Man sought in shooting of gas station clerk

Police are looking for a convicted felon in connection with an armed robbery and shooting that injured a Middle Georgia gas station clerk early Sunday.

Brandon Bushay Smith, 28, is wanted on multiple charges, including armed robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and criminal attempt to commit murder, Warner Robins police said in a news release.

About 1:13 a.m., Smith entered the Lo Bucks gas station in the 700 block of North Davis Drive, shot clerk Vikram Patel several times and fled with an undisclosed amount of money, authorities said.

Patel, 38, was taken to Navicent Health, formerly The Medical Center of Central Georgia, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.
