Local and Georgia authorities are seeking a man in connection with nine structure fires in Valdosta, including one at a church.
Benjamin Michael Wilcox, 24, of Valdosta, is wanted for questioning in connection with fires that occurred between June and October, Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens said.
“Eight vacant houses and one church sustained heavy damage from the fires, which are within a one-mile radius of each other,” Hudgens said.
No injuries were reported.
Wilcox is 5-foot-8, weighs 172 pounds and has dark hair. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Valdosta Fire Department at 912-333-1835 or the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office at 800-656-2298.
