A 24-year-old man was shot and killed after he tried to sell his PlayStation through an online app, police told Channel 2 Action News.
Police said Larry Stewart was shot multiple times Friday morning after he met someone at an apartment complex off Kenelworth Drive in East Point, the station reported.
Witnesses said Stewart met with the potential buyer in a stairwell when he was shot multiple times in the chest. He ran after being hit, but collapsed.
The shooter is at large.
Stewart’s sister, Jamila Bigham, said her brother posted the PlayStation 4 on the OfferUp app. But she was uneasy about the potential transaction.
“My boyfriend told him not to do it,” Bigham said. “(He said), ‘Just go sell it at the store instead.’
“But I guess he took it upon himself (and) thought he’d get more for selling it on the street.”
The victim’s sister isn’t sure what provoked the deadly shooting.
“It wasn’t worth it,” she said. “A life isn’t worth a game system.”
