A month after Kwame Dozier walked into a Scarsdale, N.Y., police station and allegedly confessed to a 5-year-old murder, police say he is back in Fulton County.

The 37-year-old told police he was culpable in a drug and gang-related shooting in Roswell, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

Ladell Deon Crumpton, 31, was found dead at the Concepts 21 apartment complex on Old Holcomb Bridge Road on Jan. 8, 2012. Police said someone knocked on the door just after midnight and opened fire on the man who answered.

Crumpton was shot in the neck and killed by a suspect in a black, hooded sweatshirt, police said.

“As he opened the door, he was shot at that particular point,” Roswell police spokesman Lt. James McGee previously told Channel 2 Action News. “Later on, we found out that another subject had ran from the front of the apartment to the back. He found out after he had gotten out that he was grazed.”

Dozier returned to Fulton County earlier this month on murder, attempted robbery and assault charges, jail officials confirmed Thursday.

He has a grand jury hearing set for March 29.
