A 21-year-old man was convicted of molestation in Fulton County involving a 5-year-old girl.

A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for molesting a 5-year-old girl, Fulton County’s top prosecutor said.

The victim identified Quantavius Speed in December 2015 as the person who sexually assaulted her, District Attorney Paul Howard Jr. said in a news release Tuesday.

“Over the course of a year, Quantavius Speed repeatedly sexually assaulted the child by touching her genitals and engaged in sexual intercourse with her at least once as proven at trial,” Howard said.

When questioned by officials with the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, the victim provided a descriptive narrative of the sexual assault incidents, according to the release.

Speed was sentenced Nov. 3 to 25 years for his conviction on aggravated child molestation and five years for a child molestation conviction, Howard said. The sentences will be served concurrently.

He will be on probation for the rest of his life and has to register as a sex offender.

“Quantavius Speed repeatedly sexually assaulted and raped a defenseless child,” Howard said.
