A 28-year-old South Carolina man was sentenced to 60 years in prison without parole for raping and robbing an 83-year-old woman in February 2015.

According to The Augusta Chronicle, Edward Terrell Chandler was convicted of burglary, criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and robbery on Friday.

On Feb. 24, 2015, Chandler, who did yard work for the victim, asked to use the woman’s phone. He claimed his father had a medical problem. He forced entry into the woman’s home, attacked her, stole money from her pursue and forced her to write him a check, the newspaper reported. He also tied her up using his Nike Air Max’s shoe strings, according to The Chronicle.

After he left, the woman freed herself and called 911.
