A man has been charged in connection with the weekend stabbing death of his girlfriend, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Wendall Gregory Armour, 49, was taken into custody Sunday after Jodi Lane Gerrell was found dead in a residence in the 4700 block of Miller Lake Road, Hall sheriff’s Sgt Stephen Wilbanks said.

About 6 p.m. Saturday, deputies and emergency responders were called about a man “behaving abnormally” at a home in the same area. The man, later identified as Armour, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for evaluation and observation.

“After the ambulance departed the scene, the residents who placed the initial 911 call became concerned for the welfare of others and went to check on them,” Wilbanks said.

Inside the Miller Lake Road home, they discovered the body and called 911. Gerrell, 42, had been stabbed multiple times, Wilbanks said.

Authorities have not released a motive in the case or the charges against Armour.
