No charges will be filed in the fatal shooting of a Hampton teen.

A man accused in a Hampton teen’s death won’t face charges after investigators discovered the teen pulled a gun on him and a passenger, Henry County officials said.

Jayden Parks, 18, was shot and killed near his Hampton home Nov. 27 after he sold a man and a woman shoes, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.

Detectives discovered after the shoe sale Parks pulled a gun on the pair and tried to rob them, Channel 2 Action News reported. The man, who was not identified, pulled out his gun and fired back.

“Based on officers’ representation of the facts, we agreed with police that it appeared to be self-defense,” Henry County Assistant District Attorney Megan Matteucci said.
