A Lawrenceville man was arrested Monday in connection with a hit-and-run that left a 79-year-old woman dead, police said.

Lenny Evon Decouto, 51, allegedly struck and killed Tran Hong while driving a U-Haul truck at the intersection of Daniel Lane and Johnson Road on Sept. 10, Lawrenceville police said in a news release.

Hong died at the scene, according to the release. Decouto faces charges of first-degree vehicular homicide, felony hit-and-run and failure to maintain lane.

He is in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond on the felony charges, according to jail records.
