For the third time in the past 18 months, an officer at the Chatham County jail has been accused of assault or inappropriate contact with inmates, according to a media report.

Jermaine Minor, 25, is charged with four counts of sexual assault on a person in custody, one count of making false statements and one count of violating his oath of office, the Savannah Morning News reported.

Top jail officials were told of an inmate’s complaint Tuesday, and Minor was arrested Thursday, officials said.

Investigators have identified four victims and there could be more, Chief Deputy Billy Freeman said. Chatham County, which includes Savannah, is about 250 miles southeast of Atlanta.
