A Marietta man is wanted on homicide charges in connection with a fatal accident involving a Cobb County Transit bus, police said.

Hugo Ramos, 47, was processed through the Cobb County jail after a fatal accident last month, but charges weren’t filed until Monday, according to an incident report.

He was driving a Chevrolet S-10 truck with his aunt, Josefina Ramos, at his side about 9 a.m. Nov. 19.

Police aren’t sure if Ramos saw the red light at Mesa Valley Way in Austell, but he continued along the East-West Connector without stopping.

That's when a Cobb County Transit bus smashed into the side of the truck , Cobb County police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce previously told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Carlos Moring, 49, of Atlanta, was the driver of the CCT bus headed northbound on Mesa Valley Way at the time.

He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a nearby hospital, where Josefina Ramos was pronounced dead.

No charges were filed against Moring.

Ramos had not yet been arrested on the second-degree homicide charge as of Monday night, according to a jail official.
