The GBI is investigating an officer-involved shooting Saturday morning in Henry County after a driver allegedly drove toward two officers during a traffic stop.

Around 1:30 a.m., two Henry County police officers attempted to pull over a car on I-75, but the driver tried to flee, the GBI said in a news release.

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Joseph Jeannick Moore in a news release.

Officers chased Moore into a cul-de-sac on Autumn Lake Drive in McDonough where his vehicle stopped, the release said.

As the officers approached, Moore’s vehicle began to drive toward them, the release said. The two officers then fired their weapons.

The vehicle was later found on Head Lane in McDonough, but Moore wasn’t found, the release said.

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office has obtained a felony probation warrant from Moore, and anyone with information is asked to call 770-477-4479.
