A carrier for the U.S. Postal Service was on the job when he was arrested Thursday on cocaine possession and driving under the influence of drugs charges, the spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said.

About 1 p.m., deputies stopped Edward Dickson Gay on Longivew Drive in Gainesville for failing to use turn signals, Deputy Stephen Wilbanks said Friday.

Gay, 50, of Flowery Branch, was arrested without incident after an investigation.

He was booked into the county jail, where he was being held Friday morning.

The postal service is involved in the ongoing investigation, Wilbanks said.
