A man believed to have robbed two banks in two states is being sought by police and federal officials.

Armed robberies were reported at banks in Chattanooga, Tenn., and in Sandy Springs last fall, FBI Agent David LeValley said in a news release.

The First Citizens Bank at 1611 Gunbarrel Road in Chattanooga was robbed Nov. 21 by a man wearing a surgical-type mask around his neck. He was seen carrying a silver and black handgun and got into a charcoal gray Acura TSX. A woman in her 20s in a red baseball cap was driving the getaway car, LeValley said.

Then, on Dec. 28, a similar man entered the Wells Fargo bank at 124 Glen Ridge Point Parkway in Sandy Springs. He also carried a silver and black handgun and officials believe he is the same man who robbed the Chattanooga bank.

The man who robbed the Sandy Springs bank, however, ran away on foot.

He is described as in his late 20s or early 30s with a thin build and low haircut style. He wore all black during the alleged robberies.
