The FBI is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who may have critical information about a child victim in a sexual exploitation investigation.

The man, known as John Doe 40, is described as likely between 30 and 40 years old and appears to be heavy set with dark hair, FBI spokesman Kevin Rowson said.

Photographs and an informational poster of John Doe 40 can be found at the FBI website.

The video depicting John Doe 40, shown with a child, was first noted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in October 2017, officials said. So the video is believed to have been produced before that date.

Rowson said the agency is not sure if there is a Georgia connection to the case. No charges have been filed.
