An employee of a global business based in North Georgia allegedly stole about $766,000 from the company for her personal use, according to multiple reports.

Debora Busby, 54, of Fairmount, is charged with 51 counts of financial transaction card fraud and 51 counts of identity fraud after it was found that she used her position at Mohawk Industries to “convert funds for her own use," Calhoun Police Chief Garry Moss said in a statement.

"It appears Busby had taken approximately $766,000 over a three-year span and used the money to pay personal bills, take lavish vacations and purchase various items for personal uses," Capt. Tony Pyle said, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Employees found discrepancies in several Mohawk accounts, Moss said. After examining several hundred documents and interviewing many people, detectives said Busby acted alone.

Busby was a 17-year employee of Mohawk, according to northwestgeorgianews.com. She was arrested Oct. 9.

Mohawk, based in Calhoun, is a leading manufacturer of residential flooring, according to its website. It has a market cap of about $19.6 billion, based on Friday’s New York Stock Exchange close.
