A warrant issued for a Cobb County pastor provides more details into his alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl while she was staying at the homeless shelter he ran in Smyrna.
Danny Wells has been in Cobb County jail without bond since Thursday morning on charges of rape and aggravated child molestation.
Wells founded the 7 Bridges to Recovery ministry and ran The Garden at 2840 Plant Atkinson Road in Smyrna, which is a homeless shelter meant to house 105 women and children and provide programming for 25 men.
According to warrant, the girl, now 14 years old, remembers waking up the night after Christmas 2012 in her cubicle at the shelter. Wells was holding her hands above her head.
The girl told investigators she said "please stop" but couldn't yell "because it felt as though something was in her throat," the warrant said.
Police continue to investigate, and believe there could be more victims. Anyone with information should contact Cobb's Crimes Against Children’s Unit at 770-801-3470.
