An off-duty Cherokee County sheriff’s deputy was arrested Friday on a DUI charge, a spokeswoman said.

Johnathan Nuzzo, 42, was arrested by Ball Ground police, sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Marianne Kelley said in a statement.

Nuzzo, who has been with the sheriff’s office for eight years, was released from the Cherokee County jail on $1,318 bond, Kelley said. He is on administrative leave during an internal investigation.
