A week after a DeKalb County police officer fought with a suspect and was dragged by a car during a traffic stop, he identified the three people accused of injuring him.

Officer Kareem Rhone, 35, is still recovering from head injuries he sustained May 30, DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said.

Driver DeJanell Edwards, 26, and passengers Andre Thurman, 25, and Antonio Sims, 25, are charged with aggravated assault and felony obstruction after they allegedly dragged Rhone down Capistrana Place.

Police say Rhone pulled the threesome over and fought with one of the suspects before he was dragged. It is not clear which suspect fought with Rhone or what led to the traffic stop or the fight.

Rhone is an eight-year veteran of the department.
