A Henry County man is dead from a gunshot, and there may be a connection to a house party, police said.

About 1:40 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a house in the 1000 block of Maria Drive outside McDonough, according to police. Officers found blood on the door, but no one was in the house.

Soon after, a man arrived at Piedmont Henry Hospital with a serious gunshot wound, and he later died, police said.

Police think there’s a connection, although they don’t know if the man lived at the house. Neighbors said there was a party at the house in the evening.

The victim’s identity was not released by police, and there are no suspects.

However, the victim was identified as 17-year-old Jesse Thomas by Channel 2 Action News, citing his father.
