A 15-year-old has been charged in connection with a deadly shooting on Thanksgiving in Forsyth County.

Authorities have identified the 15-year-old who is in custody in connection with a deadly shooting during a domestic incident on Thanksgiving night.

Re’Deyon Hughes is facing murder and aggravated assault charges after DreLandon Brown, 18, was shot inside a Forsyth County home, authorities said.

Hughes, who is charged as an adult, is awaiting a preliminary hearing, Forsyth County District Attorney Penny Penn told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Hughes is being housed without bond at a youth detention facility in Hall County.

Deputies responded to the scene in the 1200 block of Wondering Way about 8 p.m. on Nov. 23, sheriff’s spokesman Doug Rainwater said earlier in a news release. They found Brown inside with a gunshot wound. Deputies administered first aid and CPR, Rainwater said.

Brown was taken to an area hospital, where he died.

Hughes left the home on foot after the shooting with his 2-week-old son, Rainwater said. He surrendered within minutes, and authorities found the gun they believe was used in the shooting.

Residents of the home identified the shooter at the time, Rainwater said. The child’s mother lived at the home.
