A Cobb County man was arrested after an online advertisement led to him seeking sex from whom he thought was a 14-year-old girl, police said.

James C. Lumpkin allegedly propositioned an undercover Marietta police officer, according to the arrest warrant. Lumpkin, of a Chert Road address, was arrested Thursday at a motel on South Cobb Parkway.

Lumpkin is charged with computer pornography-wireless internet, according to the warrant.

The online ad was titled “White girls of any age come by my motel in Marietta to get the picture,” the warrant said.

A detective took on the role of a 14-year-old girl and contacted the phone number in the ad, according to the warrant.

Texts were exchanged between the suspect and the undercover officer, and the conversation was “sexual,” police said. The suspect also sent to the “girl” multiple images of nude men and women engaged in sexual behavior.

When Lumpkin invited the “girl” to his motel room for sexual intercourse and oral sex, police responded and took him into custody, according to the warrant.
