Patrick Michael Ross thought he was going to pick up a package at Yellow Freight.

Instead, he learned the 214-pound package was intercepted by narcotics agents, who later arrested him on drug trafficking charges, according to a Cobb County arrest warrant.

Ross admitted to police that he was involved in a drug trafficking ring out of California, in which he “orders marijuana in large quantities and distributes them to other parties,” according to the warrant. He said he sent cash to order the drugs and was given $1,500 for receiving the marijuana.

Police also searched Ross’ Marietta home and found 8 pounds of marijuana in double vacuum-sealed packages in his garage, a money counter and a vacuum sealer. Alprazolam pills, perhaps more commonly known as Xanax, were found inside a backpack at the home.

Ross remains in the Cobb County jail without bond.
