A man killed outside the Five Points MARTA station was one of two people hit by crossfire Saturday, police said.

Jaron Ramsby, 34, died after being shot in the chest at 30 Marietta Street, near the corner of Peachtree Street and Alabama Street.

The second bystander, who was hit by gunfire in the leg, was recovering Sunday at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Witness Jeffery Jones told Channel 2 Action News he saw when and where the men were wounded.

“There were some kids that had just crossed the street and the kids barely missed the crossfire and other bystanders got shot,” Jones said. “They shot one in the torso and in the chest and they shot the other man in the leg.”

Atlanta police Lt. Charles Hampton told Channel 2 the area outside the MARTA station is populated enough that someone likely knew the shooters.
