Authorities are saying that a man in Clayton County couldn’t have picked a worse vehicle to hit Friday night while allegedly driving drunk.

The suspected DUI driver hit Sheriff Victor Hill’s vehicle.

In a Facebook post, Hill said that he was not seriously injured during the crash, but his backup patrol car is now out of commission. Lovejoy police are investigating the crash, and a department spokesman told AJC.com it took place at Tara Boulevard and Lovejoy Road.

The suspect was taken into custody and charged with DUI and failure to yield during a left turn. Lovejoy police identified him as Lawrence Howard Jordan.

AJC.com has reached out to the sheriff’s office for more information.
