A 7-year-old boy was in critical condition Sunday morning after he was shot while sitting in a car outside his house, the Macon Telegraph reports.

The shooting was reported Saturday afternoon on Woolfolk Street in east Macon.

Edgerin Wallace was on a ventilator at Navicent Health Medical Center, the newspaper reported.

Police said witnesses reported an armed man walked over to the car and fought with someone inside.

Wallace’s mother and her boyfriend were in the car and when they tried to drive away the armed man fired at least four shots at the car, striking the boy.
